Stowmarket Golf Club is looking for a passionate and experienced Chef to join our growing kitchen team, working alongside our Head Chef.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys producing high-quality, freshly prepared food in a professional but friendly environment. About the Role

Working closely with the Head Chef, you will help deliver an exciting range of food, including:

  • Breakfasts and brunches
  • Lunch service
  • Sunday Carveries
  • Afternoon Teas
  • Private functions and celebrations
  • Weddings
  • Golf society catering
  • Seasonal events and themed evenings

You’ll be involved in preparing fresh, high-quality dishes, maintaining excellent food hygiene standards, and helping ensure every guest receives an outstanding dining experience.

What We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a professional kitchen, ideally within a gastro pub, hotel, restaurant or similar fresh food environment.
  • Passion for producing quality food using fresh ingredients.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • High standards of cleanliness and food safety.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required.

Weekend Clubhouse Cleaner

Purpose of the Role
Stowmarket Golf Club is looking for a reliable and conscientious Weekend Cleaner to ensure the Clubhouse is clean, fresh and presentable ahead of the day’s golf. This is a key early-morning role that helps create a welcoming first impression for members and visitors.
Main Duties and Responsibilities

General cleaning of the Clubhouse, including floors, surfaces, fixtures and fittings

Cleaning and restocking of washrooms and changing rooms to a high standard of hygiene

Cleaning of public areas, including the bar, lounge and reception areas

Emptying bins and disposing of waste in line with Club procedures

Reporting any maintenance issues, breakages or supply shortages to the Clubhouse Manager

Ensuring all cleaning is completed to a high standard within the allotted time, ready for the start of the day’s play

Working safely and in accordance with the Club’s Health & Safety and COSHH procedures, including the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment
Extended Scope – Halfway House
There is scope for this role to be extended, for the right candidate, to include additional cleaning duties at the Halfway House. This would involve general cleaning and presentation of the facility ahead of use by members and visitors during the day. Additional hours and duties would be agreed separately and reflected in an updated schedule of hours and pay.
Person Specification

Reliable, punctual and able to work independently with minimal supervision

Available on both Saturdays and Sundays, early morning (5.00am–7.30am)

Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided

A conscientious approach with good attention to detail

Able to work flexibly and take on additional duties as the role develops

Own transport is desirable given the early start time

This is a part-time, permanent position. Hours and duties may be reviewed from time to time in discussion with the post-holder. A full induction and relevant training (including COSHH and manual handling) will be provided.
